The earlier versions AVG 9 Free and AVG 2011 Free
is still quite popular among our readers. It provides basic security
protection for your computer against malware, viruses and other
malicious programs. The standard security module that AVG Antivirus Free Edition 2012 comprises of are an antivirus, anti-spyware, email protection, resident protection, LinkScanner, search-shield, surf-shield, anti-rootkit, PC analyze and identity protection.
Each of the following three applications of LiveKive, Family Safety, and PC Tuneup is available as a standalone AVG product, and an optional part of your AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2012 installation. Within the Your AVG Apps dialog (accessible via the My Apps button directly from the AVG main dialog) you can see an overview of applications already installed, and ready to be installed optionally:
